Consultation on Changes to Bus Routes

The Parish Council has just received the following information from Transport for West Midlands regarding a consultation on changes to subsidised bus routes. These will affect the S2 and therefore our bus services. We would encourage as many residents as possible to take part in this consultation. A document outlining possible changes can be accessed by clicking here.

I am writing to advise of a consultation that Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) will be commencing next week regarding a review of the financially supported bus services within the Solihull area. Many of the services are currently operated under the ‘Signature’ brand and have been in their current form for over 5 years. The contracts that are in place will be coming to an end in February 2019.

The consultation will be open from Monday 24 September, for a period of three weeks. TfWM are keen to ensure that residents and representatives of wards, groups and communities, have the opportunity to feed into this consultation and that they can capture as many views as possible from service users. As part of this TfWM will be holding a public exhibition in Solihull Town Centre (near to the former Maplins) on Wednesday 3 October from 9am until 3pm. They will also be conducting a number of on-bus and at-stop surveys over the coming weeks.

The public information for the consultation is attached, and the dedicated TfWM webpage, where people will be able to find more information and completed surveys, will be going live on Monday 24 September. It can be accessed through: www.Networkwestmidlands.com/solihull

The best way for service users to provide their feedback about the proposals is through the consultation questionnaire. TfWM and Solihull MBC officers would be grateful if you could encourage residents within your parish to complete the questionnaire, in order to help influence and inform the decisions regarding the network.
