Local Plan Review

Published: 25 January 2019

Solihull MBC Draft Local Development Plan has been published with proposals for land off Dog Kennel Lane inside Cheswick Green Parish Boundary, as well as other parcels of land leading to the rear of homes on Creynolds Lane and joining the Stratford Road at the roundabout with Monkspath Hall Road, for the development of 1000 new homes. Known as Site 12

This will cause a burden on the area as planning permission has already been granted for 750 new homes to be built on Blythe Valley Park, as well as a 250-unit care home and a hotel.

  • There will be an impact on traffic which is already severely congested at peak times.
  • There will be an increased risk of this exacerbating potential flooding.
  • There will be an impact on infrastructure in particular Medical facilities/services and schools.
