Mount Dairy Farm Update March 2016

Published: 22 March 2016

Many residents are concerned after the recent heavy rain and flooding in parts of Cheswick Green Village as to when the flood alleviation works are to be undertaken. Heavy machinery cannot be used on the floodplain whilst ground conditions are so wet and also work cannot start until the electricity cables have been diverted. SMBC inform the Parish Council that work should take place in May when, hopefully, it will be drier. The flood alleviation work cannot, however, be fully completed until phase 2, when the volume of the surface water runoff/drainage buffer storage capacity needed for each phase of the development can be finalised. The work to take place soon should help the situation.
